So this morning, Dave greets me with the most uplifting Monday morning statement ever:
“You know you’re growing old when the girl from Spy Kids is getting a divorce.”
So I looked it up, and lo and behold, it’s true: Alexa Vega, the girl who plays Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids movies, is getting a divorce at the age of 23.

She married film producer Sean Covel two years ago, when she was 21. Married young? No problem there.
He was 34 at the time. 13 year age gap? It’s all good for Hollywood.
All grown up!
But in all fairness, it’s a two-year marriage between two Hollywood players. In Hollywood years, that’s still somewhat of a feat.
After all, she still beats the following Hollywood marriages:
- Britney Spears and Jason Alexander
- Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra
- Renee Zellweger and Kenney Cheswick
- Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley
- And of course, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Ah well, the little girl from Spy Kids is all grown up now!
PS: I actually really enjoyed the first Spy Kids movie. The rest got steadily worse, but the first is still a fun flick!
